Orienteering - Give it a Go! at Campsall Country Park

A fabulous chance to try orienteering for free in the scenic surroundings of Campsall Country Park. Using a map to navigate, you will have 45 minutes to find as many controls as you can. You can take part individually, in pairs or as a group. This event is ideal for newcomers.
There is a car park off Church Field Rd - nearest postcode - DN6 9LN. From the car park head down the hill and turn right and you will see us. Alternatively you can enter the park from one of the other park entrances. We will be based at the entrance by Campsall Park Road. It is possible to park on this road.
Start, Finish & Registration
Registration & start open from 1-3pm. Courses close 3.45pm. Just turn up on the day. Entry is free.
No special equipment is needed but bring a compass if you have one. It is a good idea to wear full leg cover including socks that cover your ankles and shoes with a good grip.
A 45 minute score event where you try to find as many control points as you can in the time allowed. There will be a mix of easy and harder controls. This event is ideal for newcomers and improvers. Children are welcome and instruction will be given.
Full leg cover and sturdy footwear advised. Take care near the edges of the lakes and watch out for trip hazards. Please be courteous of other park users.
Safety & risk
A comprehensive risk assessment will have been carried out by the organiser, but participants take part at their own risk and are responsible for their own safety during the event. If a competitor has a pre-existing medical condition that they think should be declared, please complete a medical form at enquiries. The sealed envelope will only be opened in an emergency.
