Coaching for All at Wheata Woods
Sun 8th Oct 2017 Start Times 13:00
SYO are running a coaching and training session on Sunday 8th October at Wheata Woods, Grenoside. It is a runnable deciduous woodland, providing sufficient technical challenge for the experienced orienteer and a good path network for beginners.
Parking off Woodhead Rd (S35 8RS). The Sheffield Wildlife Trust have very kindly given us permission to park in their car park, which is just on the right when approaching from Grenoside, here.
The sessions will start at 1pm. Please arrive by 12.50pm so we can get started by 1pm. Parents who wish to accompany their children on the activities are encouraged or alternatively are very welcome to join the adult's group and have a go themselves. Children under 7 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. All participants should wear full leg cover and sturdy footwear and should bring a water bottle and waterproof.
Cost will be £3 per session to non-members, free to club members.
Wheata Woods is a pleasant area of deciduous urban woodland on the outskirts of Sheffield. It adjoins the village of Grenoside and is included on the larger map of Wharncliffe and Greno Woods used for the British Championships in 2011. Plenty of paths for the less technical courses with accurately mapped thickets and contour detail for the more technical courses.More details about Wheata Woods...
