Latest update re Covid 19
It is with great regret that we have decided not to continue the Wednesday orienteering courses for the time being. While not strictly against the latest regulations we feel it is not in the spirit of the new lockdown. There is no problem with going out orienteering on your own in a local wood, park or urban area for your daily exercise but we feel that it wouldn't be right to encourage lots of people to drive to and run around a specific area. In particular the Endcliffe student village still has students living there so it wouldn't be fair to have lots of people running round the buildings where they live.
Within the next couple of days we will set up a members folder containing a range of orienteering courses on areas we are allowed to use at this time of year. There will be no controls out but it is great training to navigate to a feature rather than a flag! You can then choose areas near to where you live, remembering to abide by the social distancing reccomendations.. I'll aim to email the link to this by Friday.
We're moving forward with the on-line circuit class and hope to launch this at the end of the week and some members are planning Maprun courses so hopefully there will be more of these available soon. Meanwhile, if you fancy a go at the planning competition, let me know and I'll send out the information. The deadline for entries is 1st April.
Look after yourselves.
