We have 2 events approaching in early November plus a National event in December.
Wed 7th Nov
The first is a night event on Wednesday 7th November at Burbage Mines, Ringinglow. This is a super little area with complex contour detail. There are 3 courses for experienced orienteers plus a newcomers course so if you haven’t tried night orienteering before – now is your chance! Juniors are welcome, although those that normally run orange or below must be shadowed. Starts 6-7pm. There is a post event social at the Norfolk Arms. More details are available here.
Please remember to email me by 12 noon on 6th November to pre-order your maps.
Sun 11th Nov
The second event is a regional event on Sunday 11th November at Treeton (between Sheffield and Rotherham). This is an interesting area with a variety of terrain types. The full range of courses are available from white to short brown catering for all ages and abilities. Starts 10.30am-12.30pm, entry on the day. More details here.
As usual we require helpers for this event and to date Paul hasn’t had a single volunteer come forwards! Please email him if you can spare a couple of hours – remember the sooner you offer the more chance you have of getting the job you want. Volunteers receive a 50% discount on their entry fee.
Sun 2nd Dec
Finally on Sunday 3rd December we have a national event on Ramsley Moor in the stunning Peak District. This is a physically and technically challenging area comprising of both wood and moorland. There is a choice of 11 courses catering for young juniors, newcomers and experienced orienteers. The event is the last in the 2018 YHOA Superleague and is also a junior selection race for Interland. You should enter in advance, using this link, by 25th Nov to receive a discount on the entry fees. We will need plenty of helpers - use discount code asgh34 for a 50% reduction in fees if you are able to help.
