Outdoor City Weekender - 18/19 March. HELP REQUIRED
SYO are holding two races over the weekend of the 18/19 March as part of the Sheffield Outdoor City Weekender which includes the Sheffield Adventure Film Festival.
Sat 18th March - Urban Level C & Schools League Event - Norfolk Park
As this is a level C urban event and schools' league we require lots of helpers. It is a great chance to promote the sport of orienteering in Sheffield so even if you are not able to help, please come along and support the event by having a go.
There is a full range of adult urban classes, offering fast technical racing in the area surrounding Norfolk Park. Less experienced orienteers often find urban orienteering easier than forest orienteering, so if you haven't tried it before this is a great opportunity. Registration is in the Centre in the Park. Starts adjacent from 12.30pm to 2.30pm. There is a fab cafe.
Helpers receive a 50% discount off the urban courses. Please enter in advance via fabian4. using discount code dvgh5789. You can enter on the day but entries in advance help cut down on helper workload and guarantee your map. If you are able to help email Pauline.
The schools' event courses (white to long orange) are based in the park. Normal schools' entry rates apply. Juniors are welcome to run their normal schools' course and then the urban. Registration and starts 1-3pm as normal.
Full information on the event is here.
Sun 19th March - YHOA Middle Distance Champs - Hugset
