British Schools Orienteering Championship 2017
Dear SYO Junior
British Schools Orienteering Championship 2017 - Sunday 19th November
Congratulations to all the South Yorkshire schoolchildren who competed at the British Schools Score Championship held at Rother Valley last Saturday. The weather was perfect, the course was tactically challenging, there were many podium places for local schools.
If you enjoyed the Score event ( or even if you didn't attend), you may wish to compete at the British Schools Orienteering Competition ' BSOC2017' next month. The competition will be the more usual orienteering course format, with different orienteering courses for each school year. Details are on the BSOA website. A single form has to be completed for each school. This can be completed by a parent but it has to be signed by the headteacher. Entries have to be posted by 31st October ( ie in 2 weeks' time)
SYO will be hiring a coach travelling there & back on Sunday 19th November. There will be a maximum of 53 seats, allocated 'first come, first served'.
Proposed (draft) Itinerary:
0700 Depart Brocco Bank
1000 Arrive at competition, Forest of Dean GL16 7EJ

- Please email me to book a coach seat, and send payment ( £8 per seat) to the SYO bank account, sort code:404107, account: 21115189, reference BSOC 'your surname'
- Add your name to your School's Form ( a sole competitor from a school should complete their own form)

Please contact me if you have any queries, or would like to know if others from your school are planning to attend.
