SYO Training Weekend

SYO have booked Malham Tarn Field Study Centre (12miles north of Skipton)
for the first weekend in September - Friday 5th through to Sunday 7th Sep
2008. This superb location in the Yorkshire Dales offers some fantastic
limestone country scenery including Malham Cove and Gordale Scar AND
Orienteering terrain all in one. It is a full-board weekend with arrival on
Friday evening and departing on Sunday afternoon with a range of
orienteering activities over the weekend but with time to see the local
sights.

The accommodation is mostly in 2-bed rooms but with family rooms too. Many
of the rooms are en-suite and there are plenty of hot showers and if its
hot, Malham Tarn itself. There is a local nature reserve around the edge of
the Tarn with some interesting bird life and the woods around the house have
their own deer.

The orienteering is open to all abilities - from beginners through to those
who need to hone their techniques for those at the sharp end. We hope to
use 2 local (walking/jogging distance away) and possibly another area a few
minutes drive away.
