South Yorkshire Orienteers
Northern Nights and Big Moor Snow
At 10:30 Saturday, forecast suggests only 10mm of snow in Rotherham this afternoon/evening, so we are planning to put out controls for the Northern Nights and will proceed unless the forecast is very wrong. Expect to need to take a waterproof jacket.
For Big Moor on Sunday we will review the situation on Saturday evening. We will have most of the controls out by the end of this afternoon. If we need to postpone the final decision until the morning you will be able to phone 01433 630467 for a recorded message giving a final update (Big Moor only), but please don't phone between 22:30 and 07:00 as the organiser will need some sleep.
Final details and start lists for both events are available though the event links above.
We will continue to update this site during Saturday.
Urban Nights Race 4 - The North Stand - Final Details
The 4th race in the series gets underway on Thurs Feb 9th (** watch this space it may change). As with the others it will start at 7pm from 68 Roebuck Road. The checkpoints, to be visted in any order, are Sheff Wed, Sheff United and Hallam (Crosspool) football grounds - you just need to touch the boundary wall/fence. Post race celebrations will be Fish & Chips from the top of the road and Beer from the Dram Shop brought back to my house - RSVP with an idea of food if you plan to do this so we can forewarn the chippy.

The event centre is at Cliff College Calver as used for the Northern Champs in January 2010. The start is near Curbar Gap so we have organised a shuttle bus service to the Start/Finish for helpers and those who might find the 2k walk a bit tough. The White and Yellow (and String) courses will be in the grounds of Cliff College, specially mapped for the occasion by Peter Gorvett.
