SYO Local League

Over the last few years our mid-week events have been part of one of three mini-competitions: Spring Cup, City Cup (formerly Park Races) and Night Cup. We have decided to combine these to create a single SYO local league, running from 1st Jan to 31st December each year. All the events will have three courses: Long and Medium technical and Short - Orange standard.
Autumn/winter fixtures for 2013 to be confirmed at a later date.
The current league table is shown below (we are hoping to include a handicap/most improved orienteer award), the scores will be updated after each event and visible on this page. A list of events that are part of the league is at the bottom of this page.

Target winning times on long and middle:
- Long middle: 35-50 minutes
- Middle:25-35 minutes
- Sprint: under 25 minutes
Scoring: 50 for win, 47 for 2nd, then 45,44,43,42,41 etc
- Long Course Women Open, Men Open, Men 45+, Men 18
- Medium Course Women Medium , Women 45+, Women 60+, Women 18-, Women 14-, Men 60+, Men 14-
- Short Course Women 12-, Men 12-, Novices (< 6 months experience at first event)
Best eight results to count for experienced orienteers, best four for novices. If you run a shorter or longer course than your class you will score points, but not more than those entered in the correct class.
